EDUCATIONAL TOURS

Midstream College has a very active adventure club with annual excursions to the Drakensberg and Orange River. Activities include hiking, rafting and kloofing.

Part of Midstream College’s educational philosophy is broadening learners’ horizons and exposing them to a vast array of cultures. Every year learners undertake an educational tour abroad. Our first tour was to Kilimanjaro in 2008. Subsequent tours were: Europe (2010), Europe and England (2011), USA and Dubai (2012), Europe and Morocco (2013), Europe and Russia (2014), Eastern Europe (2015), China (2016), Europe and Everest Base Camp (2017) and Scandinavia (2018).

The first Flemish exchange programme for grade 11 learners with St Barbara College in Ghent, Belgium kicked off in 2014. Currently we have an annual exchange programme with St Pietersinstituut and St Franciscusinstituut in Ghent.

C4C (COLLEGE FOR CHRIST)

In September 2007, a group of learners came together and established C4C (College for Christ). We gather at break on Wednesdays - mainly to talk, pray and watch music videos from bands like “Toby Mac” and “Hillsong”.

We talk about the everyday challenges that we as Christians have to face and how to build your relationship with God and live the way that He intended for us through His example. (Living by faith, not by sight.)

C4C is not church bound, class bound or appearance bound. Anyone is welcome – at any time of the year!

Once a term, a social event is organised, like the social braai, or the coffee bar.

Our wish for you for the coming year is: “Faith in Christ can make extraordinary heroes out of ordinary people.”

 ADVENTURE CLUB

"Life is a blank canvas, and you need to throw all the paint on it you can."
― Danny Kaye

Life must not hold you back, and so it is important to become part of the adventure as soon as possible. There are many challenges that you can participate in when you join the adventure club.

We try to accommodate as many learners as possible, but because of permits and transportation this is not always possible.

The following activities are planned for 2019 and the staff member responsible for each activity, is:
