EDUCATIONAL TOURS

Midstream College has a very active adventure club with annual excursions to the Drakensberg and Orange River. Activities include hiking, rafting and kloofing.

Part of Midstream College’s educational philosophy is broadening learners’ horizons and exposing them to a vast array of cultures. Every year learners undertake an educational tour abroad. Our first tour was to Kilimanjaro in 2008. Subsequent tours were: Europe (2010), Europe and England (2011), USA and Dubai (2012), Europe and Morocco (2013), Europe and Russia (2014), Eastern Europe (2015), China (2016), Europe and Everest Base Camp (2017) , Scandinavia (2018), India and Ireland (2019).

The first Flemish exchange programme for grade 11 learners with St Barbara College in Ghent, Belgium kicked off in 2014. Currently we have an annual exchange programme with St Pietersinstituut and St Franciscusinstituut in Ghent.

C4C (COLLEGE FOR CHRIST)

In September 2007, a group of learners came together and founded C4C (College for Christ). It is our desire as the C4C team to help young people understand, build context for, experience, and pursue the biblical fellowship that Christ has died for.

Learners gather on Wednesdays where youth workers from surrounding churches discuss different topics. This is to assist learners and help them create a framework of support regarding the living of their faith. Overall, they focus on spiritual growth.

Cross Week is a highlight on the C4C calendar. Our theme this year was "a week in the life of Jesus". Consequently, it means that we must follow Him. As with our loved ones, staying close to Him is also a choice. In the process of staying close to Him, you learn about Him and how to follow His example. Ultimately we are disciples who follow in our Lord's footsteps.

 ADVENTURE CLUB

"Life is a blank canvas, and you need to throw all the paint on it you can."
― Danny Kaye

Life must not hold you back, and so it is important to become part of the adventure as soon as possible. There are many challenges that you can participate in when you join the adventure club.

We try to accommodate as many learners as possible, but because of permits and transportation this is not always possible.

The following activities are planned for 2019 and the staff member responsible for each activity, is:
